Monday Kickstart: House of Bane

Before Tom Hardy was breaking Bruce Wayne, he was breaking beats.

[TJ with the assist.]

Thus proving my theory that even ruthless mercenaries like some father/son freestyle time. Nothing could be a more heartwarming image.

Well, nothing except for Ms. Raquel Pomplun, that is:

*sigh* Let's go.

Throwback Thursday: "Bigger Business" -- Swizz Beats ft. Diddy, Baby, Jadakiss, Cassidy, Snoop Dogg, & Ronald Isley

Whole lotta firepower up in this 2002 banger. (With the exception of Baby, of course. God he's terrible.) A slew of famous cameos up in the video, too.

My crew did a mixtape track to this instrumental once. Personally I think the only thing that kept it from being hotter than the original was Swizz getting Ronald Isley for his. That's just not fair.

(Oh, and special love to Jada for rocking the Jerry Rice Silver & Black.)

Tail Report: Francia Raisa

Don't worry, I don't know who she is either. Or rather I didn't know, until The Huffington Post tweeted a story about the 23-year-old actress having a wardrobe malfunction (see right). Then, purely for the sake of CS's journalistic excellence *cough*, I clicked and drooled on keyboard investigated the tale of this Mexican/Honduran cutie.

All praise due to the gods of wind and perfectly-timed photography. With that pretty face, and the curves she's packing below it, I don't think she'll remain an unknown for much longer.

Michelle Jenneke Wiggles It (Just a Little Bit)

This is a little old by now; but I had no less than three people send it to me within a half hour span on Thursday. And for good reason. Michelle may have just become my favorite Australian. Sorry, Hunter. (Maybe you two can have a winner-takes-all match for my heart...in a tub of baby oil.)

Video: Childish Gambino -- "Fire Fly"

The latest release from Gambino's Camp. I've never been a fan of videos diverging from the songs they're featuring, but at least he's always cinematic with his.

Monday Kickstart: Animated Discussion

My boy Armo put me onto this video last week, and I've watched it repeatedly ever since. Seven of the entertainment industry's best voice actors read through the script of Star Wars using various impressions and voices of their famous cartoon characters.

The video's long, but well worth viewing. Especially when John DiMaggio does his Paul Lynde impression (55 minute mark). Kills it.

As hot as Tara Strong is ("Even I get boarded sometimes"), I figured I'd still give you a weekly dose of motivation, this time in the form of Ms. Leanna Decker:

Let’s get it.

Throwback Thursday: "Can't Stay" -- Dave Hollister

Dave's debut album, Ghetto Hymns, was a highlight of my 1999. The version of "Can't Stay" performed for the video is about two minutes shorter than the album version, which is both upsetting (the full-length song adds some great singing and runs) and completely understandable (it's a six minute song). And the intro song in the video ("It's Alright") will have you walking around singing "Seeeee there's a cheat, in this ol' buildinnn', and I knooooowwwww" all day long.

Louis CK Drops a Gem on 'Em

If you have two eyes and internet access, you no doubt have seen last week's firestorm over Daniel Tosh's confrontation with a blogger about rape jokes. Caught up in that scandal—accidentally, as it turns out—was Louis CK. So during an appearance on The Daily Show last night, Louis took the opportunity to explain his position, and to expertly deconstruct the entire war of words. File this one under "real talk".

Respect My Gangsta: Veronica Rothlenhauser

This is one of the sexiest things I've ever seen.

"I'll Have What She's Having"

Ted is REAL.

Monday Kickstart: Smooth Operator

England has been around some 1000 odd years longer than America has; as a result, their people are just a little better suited to dealing with tense situations. Say, for instance, your girlfriend is flipping the car you two are riding in. Well, then, you just calmly exit the vehicle, wait until it's over, and then cooly walk back to it to assess the damage.

Of course, if your heart rate is too subdued during something like that, you could be in danger all the same. That's why it's always handy to have Ellie Gonsalves nearby to help get your blood pumping again.

Who needs a defibrillator? Let's go.

Stalkerazzi Tail Report: Summertime Celebs

Gabrielle Union
I really hate you, Dwyane.

Jennifer Nicole Lee
No clue who she is. And I'm very mad about that. Or I would be, if I could be mad about anything right now.

Aubrey O'Day
She really should be trying harder. She could've usurped Kim Kardashian by now, if only she had released a sextape. Call me, Aubrey. I'm here to help.

San Fran Gymkhana

Ken Block is a sick, sick man. This is the most ridiculous thing you'll see today, guaranteed.

The One They Love to Hate

I truly don't understand those who hate on Chad Johnson (Ochocinco). The man is relentlessly jovial and pleasant, especially on Twitter. He interacts with his 3.5 million followers everyday, playfully bantering with fans and haters all the same. No topic is off-limits; no person, sport, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender is any less deserving of love and respect than the next. Which makes the desire of so many to throw shade his way even more confounding.

If anything, it's likely the media-driven image of him as a prima donna athlete that has led to the negative perception in some people's minds. Some fans tend to get swept up in his elaborate touchdown displays and (honestly innocent) smack talk with opposing players. His detractors claim that he's a selfish player; the reality couldn't be further from the truth. If you've watched or read his interviews, particularly those during his final months in Cincinnati, you've seen a team player who has only ever wanted what's best for the organization, and to contribute as best he can. While many looked at his diminished output in New England last season as a knock against him as a player, they were overlooking the greatness it spoke of him as a teammate. He exhibited none of the "diva" personality that his haters like to pretend he has, as he joyfully cheered on his teammates and pitched in whenever called upon.

Need any further proof that Mr. Johnson has gotten a bad rap? How about this: This afternoon a random follower tweeted him to say that she was feeling depressed over the recent death of her beloved husband. What Chad did next was simply amazing.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is Chad Johnson offering an all-expenses-paid trip to his wedding to a woman he doesn't know, simply because he could see pain in her and wanted to do something to help alleviate it. Incredible.

Those who hate don't take the time to learn and understand. Keep doing your thing, good sir.

Tail Report: Rashida Jones

Don't ask me why there hasn't been a post dedicated to the beautiful and talented daughter-of-Quincy yet; I'm just as shocked as you. I've been a fan of Rashida's since her "Boston Public" days, all the way through "The Office", "The Social Network", and "Parks and Recreation". Gorgeous, classy, admittedly-goofy, and acting-skills-to-pay-the-bills. Wifeylicious.
