Good Sportswomanship
I vaguely heard about this story yesterday on the news and thought people were making a big deal about this. That's because I thought all that had transpired was that a player in a girl's softball team had injured herself and the opposing team had helped her off the field.
But what happened was actually something cooler, that does merit all the media attention that this has gotten. If you haven't heard about it, basically a chick named Sara Tucholsky hit a home run at a collegiate softball game and then injured herself while rounding first. Umpires ruled that if she couldn't complete her run around the bases, her homerun would be scored a single. Also, none of her team mates could help her out because if they touched her, she would be ruled out.
That's when the opposing team's first baseman er..woman, stepped up and offered to carry Sara around so she could complete her trip around the bases. Granted, it's a meaningless college softball game, but I doubt this shit would ever happen in a MLB game. I can only picture it. A-Rod goes down and Big Papi comes over and carries him around the diamond, lol.
Anyway, pretty cool of these girls to do what they did, but am I the only one who thinks this story would have been 100 times better if they'd dropped the Sara girl just short of home plate?

Yeah, I read this on ESPN and linked some folks to it. It's stories like this that allow you to deal with crap like the Sonics' move and steroids in baseball.
lmao@dropping her before home plate.
