Trailer: Transformers: Age of Extinction
This is the second trailer to be released after the Super Bowl spot that aired last month. I'm a fanboy, so you know I'm pumped. I can't wait to watch Optimus & his crew blow some shit up. And Dinobots are in the mix as well? Finally! #geekin

Tuesday Kickstart: More than Meets the Eye
Yeah, I'm a not-so-low-key Transformers nerd, but this commercial has been cracking me up since last night.
I'm kind of surprised it took this long for them to play off the whole Megatron nickname.
So, you're probably wondering why this week's Kickstart is coming to you on a Tuesday, despite Monday not being a holiday (like, for instance, last week). Well, here's the thing: I kind of forgot to prepare a post on Sunday. I was barely-can-stay-awake, about-to-vomit-at-any-moment hungover after this year's 837 Bar Crawl on Saturday. Combine that with the first Sunday action of the NFL season, and, well, shit happens. Next week's Kickstart will return to Mondays, as per regularly-scheduled blogging. But, I want you to know that Shanina Shaik and I are very, very sorry...
Well, actually, there's nothing "sorry" about Shanina. Let's go.

Vehicle for Expression
If you're looking to add a few touches to the walls of your place, Movie Car Posters.com can help you out with some serious wall swag. Not just restricted to movies (or cars), they've taken your favorite vehicles from both the big and small screens and artistically silhouetted them against themed backdrops. The resulting posters are both fun and impressively artistic...and maybe a tad hipsterish, but that stink should wear off relatively quickly. Then you just have a cool decoration that shines in your pimped-out room.

Rocawear + Transformers
My inner fanboy just found himself some new gear. Jigga's designer clothing line has released a t-shirt collection featuring everyone's favorite robots in disguise.
From Roc4Life:
Rocawear, fresh off the success of pairing Jay-Z's lyrics with Snoopy and Peanuts (not Snoop Doggy Dogg), has collaborated once again, but this time it's Hasbro's Transformers. Yes, the box office smash hit has partnered with Shawn Carter's Rocawear for an offering of a variety of t-shirts. Check out what turned out to be an incredible collision of hip hop energy, Autobots and Decepticons, we're sure you won't be disappointed!
Many more designs are available at Rocawear's website (and they're 25% off until 3 PM EST tomorrow). They also released a short "Making of" video to launch the collection.

DC Police Kill Bumblebee
This is pretty funny. As Michael Bay and his crew filmed scenes for next year's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" in the streets of Washington, D.C., an out-of-place police SUV rushed through the set and collided with the yellow Camaro used to portray fan-favorite Bumblebee. And luckily for us, a bystander caught it all on film.
From Seibertron:
From Seibertron:
According to TMZ.com, TF3 was filming when a reported bomb scare caused an Explosive Ordinance Police Vehicle to accidentally enter the set and collide with the Camaro that has been used as Bumblebee.

I Love Transformers, But...
I suppose I can take solace in my fanboydom not being nearly as severe as that of a 14 year old boy from China. When he was 9, this little fella decided that he wanted to be just like his Cybertronian heroes; not by being able to turn into a car or plane, mind you. He decided on a much simpler method [from ShanghaiDaily.com, via Seibertron.com]:After the boy, in Yibin City, southwest Sichuan Province, had watched the animated TV series, he began to drink gasoline to become a "valiant fighter" like "Optimus Prime," his father told the newspaper.
"He began to drink gasoline five years ago, when we found he liked smelling lighter fuel," he said.
The boy's mother owned a grocery stall, selling small goods such as lighters.
In 2004, she often found lighters missing two or three days after she'd bought them. She later found that her son had been stealing them.
The parents talked to their son and asked him not to do it again. "But afterwards we found our motorcycle's gasoline was always disappearing, and one day when we found the boy had drunk a half bottle of gasoline stolen from the motorcycle, we were too shocked to say anything," the father said.
Parents of the Decade? Quite possibly. The full Seibertron.com article can be read here.

"Revenge of the Fallen" sets Wednesday Record
The new Michael Bay boomfest pulled in just over $60 million yesterday, the biggest single day box office debut ever for a film that opened in the middle of a week.TJ, Dupa, and I were among that $60 million, catching a midnight showing a couple of nights ago. Personally, I'm just over the line of fanboy-dom when it comes to Transformers, so I was almost certain to love the film. If you're an action junkie, it doesn't disappoint. The fight scenes are intricate and brutal, and the CGI looks great. Storywise, however, the film is severely hindered by a sketchy script that could've used a lot of refinement. I had read up quite a bit on the movie beforehand, and therefore was ready for some of the plot's thinner areas; TJ and Dupa, who didn't do their homework, were thrown by the artistic liberties taken by Bay & Co.
As TJ said the next day, "...[see] 'Transformers' for the action, not for the absolutely incomprehensible storyline."

New(er) Transformers Trailer
*****"Transformers" geek alert*****

For those of you who haven't caught it yet, the third trailer for "Revenge of The Fallen" has been released. The wait for this flick is going to kill me.
And it's nice to see they're still throwing in random gratuitous shots of Megan Fox in this one, too.

New Transformers Trailer
This has been around for at least a couple of months now, with shorter versions being played in TV spots from time to time. But I'm on a bit of a Revenge of The Fallen kick right now, so I'm posting this for any of my fellow cool people (read: Transformer geeks) who haven't caught it yet.
