While things for Tony Romo are looking up, the fantasy stock of San Diego's Philip Rivers might soon be on the decline, thanks to this little news story coming out of a camp he runs for high school football players.

From Shutdown Corner:

In an incident eerily similar to LeBron's Dunkgate, the San Diego Chargers quarterback was schooled by a younger, less-experienced player during an activity at one of his camps. The only difference is, Rivers didn't send one of his lackeys to grab the tape of said incident to make sure it never saw the light of day.

I wonder if I can pick up Will Nunn in my draft?

Tony Romo knows all about timing. 3 step drops, 5 step drops, 7 step drops. Fade patterns, 5 yard outs, 10 yard digs. And now, the 29-eve break off (from the New York Daily News):

Tony Romo called it quits with Jessica Simpson the night before her 29th birthday, People.com reports.

...Speculation about the couple’s recent split arose when the Dallas Cowboys quarterback and 14 of his friends partied at Hollywood hotspot MyHouse on Friday night – Simpson's 29th birthday – without the birthday girl.

If you know me, you know I'm no fan of Simpson (you probably could've surmised that from my wonderful artwork, as well). She's vastly overrated—nowhere near as pretty as people like to claim, her music is terrible, and she's a mediocre-at-best actress—and was really weakening Romo's focus. Overall, a great decision—and doing it the night before her birthday is just that perfect extra touch of "fuck you" that makes you smile.

He's probably worth a high 2nd round selection in your fantasy football drafts now.

Adrian Peterson or Michael Turner?

If you're in a fantasy football league this fall, and you have the first overall pick in your draft, then you have an interesting decision ahead of you. Do you take Michael Turner or Adrian Peterson? The majority of experts seem to lean towards Peterson. I, on the other hand, am leaning toward Turner (though I doubt that I'll be lucky enough to have a shot at either in my fantasy drafts this year); so too, it seems, is Matthew Berry—a.k.a. "The Talented Mr. Roto".

Although not as bad, relatively speaking, as he was two years ago, Peterson again wasn't great down the stretch in 2008, posting a couple of so-so games when you needed your stud the most. Taking out Week 17, when many fantasy leagues don't play, AD scored 11 fantasy points or fewer in three of his final seven games. Turner had just one such performance. Peterson had two games with single-digit fantasy points in that seven-game stretch. Turner had none.

Give me the guy who plays alongside a great quarterback (Matt Ryan), an elite wide receiver (Roddy White) and, as of this offseason, a premier tight end (Tony Gonzalez) to open up the passing game even more, over the guy who still has a bad quarterback (no Brett Favre as of this writing), still has Chester Taylor vulturing touchdowns (five touchdowns from Weeks 9 through 16) and, despite staying healthy last year, still should be considered an injury risk.

I wholly agree, especially with the point Berry makes about Atlanta's passing offense vs. Minnesota's. The difference was significant last year (ATL: 208.5 passing yards per game; MINN: 184.8 passing yards per game). And in this offseason, the Falcons have made moves to further improve their aerial attack, while the Vikes' biggest improvement may be Favre—who really isn't much of an improvement, anyways.
