Phil Ivey Donates $50k to Charity

Following his recent success in the L.A. Poker Classic and the NBC Head's Up Championship, poker pro Phil Ivey has donated $50k to charity. Click here for the story on Card Player.

Also due to his success last week, Ivey has shot into the #2 spot on Card Player's Player of the Year standings.

Just to recap, Ivey won the LAPC WPT against a Final Table that featured Nam Le and Phil Helmuth, then flew to Vegas the next day and won his first-round match at the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship against online qualifier Alisha Kunze. He then went on to defeat Johnny Chan in the round of 32, J.C. Tran in the sweet 16, and Gus Hansen in the elite eight before he fell to the eventual champion, Chris Ferguson, in the final four.
