GM has announced that the new Chevrolet Volt, an electric/gas hybrid, will get an estimated 230 miles per gallon in city driving. 2-HUNDRED-30 per gallon. If this is true, you would only have to buy gas a few times a year (depending on your driving habits). Not only that, but charging the electric motor at home will only cost you about 40 cents per day.
Keep in mind that this mpg has not been confirmed by the Environmental Protection Agency just yet. Also, the Volt is supposed to start at about $40,000 when it hits showrooms late next year. But if the EPA backs up that gas mileage claim, the price isn't all that bad. Can't front—I'm starting to consider buying one as a second car. The full article can be read on Yahoo News (click here).
