Monday Kickstart: Hugs All Around

For all the hype that led up to it, the only thing that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao settled was the legitimacy of concerns that boxing is dead.



Forgive me if I sound like a crotchety old-timer, but what the hell has happened to boxing? What we saw Saturday night was not the boxing I grew up with. Back then guys, you know...boxed. They were aggressive. They fought like their paycheck depended on it. Mayweather's didn't, and that clearly took away any incentive he might have had to actually fight. He has a defensive style, sure. But he looked completely shook in the ring on Saturday, refusing to throw counter punches, no matter how many times Pacquiao pressed him.

Boxing is dead. Time of death: about 1 a.m. EST, May 3, 2015.

Tosh.Oh shit!

For the opening episode of Tosh.0's 4th season, Daniel Tosh stepped into the ring with Manny Pacquiao. The challenge: Take one punch from the world champion...and not die.

It's worth noting that, as you might expect, Pacquiao holds back here. But despite going only about 85%, his punch is still quick as hell and very "dayumnnn"-worthy. As is Daniel's jab at the very end (Mayweather...damn).
