Throwback Thursday: "Oh Boy" -- Cam'Ron ft. Juelz Santana

Admittedly, posting a Cam'Ron video is more about spectacle than dope music. This track banged out every club and car speaker for a few months in 2002, for sure. But it and Cam carry as much substance as E!'s coverage of the Oscars' red carpet. Cam and Dipset were the Kardashians of hip-hop. You'll click play, you'll watch, you'll nod your head...but you'll hate yourself for it immediately afterward.

Throwback Thursday: "Ain't No N***a" -- Jay-Z ft. Foxy Brown

"Ain't no question, had more Black chicks between my sheets than Essence..."

Back in '96, only New York cats really knew who Jay was. And no one knew who Foxy was. Then this track started making the rounds, and was included in the soundtrack for The Nutty Professor. Not long after that Reasonable Doubt dropped, and the game was never the same again.

My girl Steph with another assist.

Throwback Thursday: "Remember Them Days?" -- Beanie Sigel ft. Eve

Irony: Beanie Sigel releasing a warm, heartfelt ode to the struggle from a position of success, that 13 years later can be looked at as an ode to that position of success. Including this:

"All dem cracks and the gats, left that life alone,
It's the tracks and the raps and the microphone/
Wish I would fuck that up now"

...*sigh* Looking back at this video, you see so much wasted potential.

Jay-Z freestyle

Wish I had witnessed this at the Palms in Las Vegas. Mr. Hova is calling out names. This is rumored to be the intro to Blueprint 3. Oowwee.

Video: Jigga rockin the Apollo in 1927

Here's some footage of Jay-Z early in his career in his finest linens at Harlem's famous Apollo theater.

Just kidding about the 1927 part.
