Top 3 November Game Titles

I'm sure the above comic resonates with a lot of Crooked Straight gamers out there. This month of November just has so many sickly awesome games dropping that balancing the play time among them is gonna seem all but impossible.

Or maybe you're just strapped for cash as is the case with yours truly and have to decide which games are MUST BUYS this month so your hard earned moola doesn't get wasted on wack titles.

Whichever the case may be, these are the top three titles you've gotta have this November:

Tom Clancy's EndWar- release date 11.5.08

Real time tactics games are not necessarily my thing, what with all the base building and resource gathering that just sucks the fun out of the experience. But EndWar is taking a different approach to the genre which promise to up the fun factor a whole lot. Game play will be much more combat centered with little emphasis on unit development.

Another innovative aspect of the title is the voice command option which let's you control the game hands free. The entire game can actually be played using voice commands which means you'll want to pick up a decent head set if you don't already have one. Best Buy is offering an exclusive EndWar and Microsoft wireless Headset combo which runs around $90. It's a good deal considering the Headset alone usually runs around $60.

Gears of War 2- release date: 11.7.08

The sequel to what many consider the best 360 game of all time is dropping in stores this Friday and it's already poised to crush it's predecessor's sales figures. In fact, Microsoft has estimated that pre-order sales have already surpassed those of the original.

This time around, although core elements of game play are still there, there is a much bigger emphasis on the story, something the first GoW1 lacked. The plot promises to be much more in depth and new multiplayer game modes are sure to give this title a whole lot of replay value.

If you haven't already pre-ordered the game, I suggest you check out Circuit City as they have a pretty good deal offering a free 1600 Point XBox Live card with the purchase of the title. That's essentially a free $20. Not too shabby.

Call of Duty 5: World at War- release date: 11.11.08

If there was one thing besides online poker that kept me from having any type of social life this past summer, it was with out a doubt Call of Duty 4. It seems I won't be seeing much of my friends this winter either if Call of Duty 5: World at War delivers the same addicting online game play that made COD4 a true instant classic in the First Person Shooter genre.

I gotta admit, I was a little skeptical at first to see that developers decided to go back to a World War II setting for COD5 when it was the modern warfare aspect of COD4 that made the game that much more fun. I was also skeptical about the fact that COD5 was developed by Treyarch, not Infinity Ward.

But all my skepticism was answered the moment I got a chance to play the beta version of the game. Without spoiling too much, I must say that the game play fun factor is still there, the perks system which made online play so enjoyable in COD4 is still there, and there's a bunch of new features such as new vehicles, weapons and a much anticipated online co-op mode.

Consider spending a little extra cash and going for the Collector's Edition once the game hits stores. In addition to many bonus items such as a stainless steel canteen imprinted with the Call of Duty series logo, the collector's edition will also give you the ability to unlock the some online weapons early, as well as earning double experience points for the first week of play.
