I'm hereby officially giving Alex Rodriguez props for coming out and admitting that he was on the juice. I turned on sports radio this weekend and all I hear is "A-Roid this, A-Roid that..." and I wondered what he was going to do. Was he going to deny it and forever face doubters and have to live with a lie like Barry Bonds and Clemens? Or was he going to come out like Mussina and Giambi and fade away as quickly as his steroids story showed up?
In this Peter Gammons interview, Rodriguez admits to using steroids and explains that it was the culture in baseball to juice up. Why didn't anyone else just explain it as it was?
Everyone was doing it and playing well, so he followed suit. Nuff said. Let's get on with the game.
For A-Rod's sake, I hope that his legacy isn't ruined.

pretty solid that he came out and admit it.
they need to put a cross check on the drug testing. if the test comes back positive then it's positive. they keep going back, trying to test again to see if it comes back negative. fishy.

Yeah, he gets an ounce more respect than the other idiots who were juiced. But it doesn't change the fact that his numbers are as artificially inflated as theirs are.
And frankly, owning up to something when you've already been cornered on it isn't exactly the same as volunteering your wrongdoing unprovoked.
TJ - I hear you but I think someone like A-Rod joining the Rangers with everyone juicing is a tough situation to be put in.
Basically everyone that did anything seems to have juiced in the past 10 years, outside of maybe Griffey and maybe Manny/Ortiz. But who knows about them? So I give the guy kudos for basically admitting it and saying this is what it was.
I think Ortiz was juicing for sure.
what's the percentage of cats that were juicing? i'm guessing over 50%.
