The BCS fux up again

I'm not sure if anyone remembers but back on October 11, Texas beat Oklahoma 45-35 in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates. But thanks to the BCS rankings, Oklahoma is in the driver's seat to go to the national championship game against Alabama, even though they have the same amount of losses as Texas and lost head-to-head to the Longhorns.

As an SC fan I'm not even mad that we have no shot at the title game -- I don't feel we deserve it after losing to Oregon State. But if I was a Longhorn fan I would be pissed. Then again, if I was a Longhorn fan, I'd feel like a loser anyways so this would be nothing new.

The BCS gets it right... for now

I was wondering how far Texas Tech would move up with their outstanding performance against Texas on Saturday. Some people guessed they would move from 7 to 4 or up to 3rd behind Bama and PSU. I thought that they deserved second, if not first. They just took out the top team in the country, who had taken out the former top team in the country. Tech led the entire game with the exception of a minute and thirty seconds in which they almost choked the game away, but came through with a huge touchdown with a second on the clock.

Even though I'm a true USC homer, at this point we don't have the resume to be ahead of any of the top six schools.

1. Alabama 9-0
2. Texas Tech 9-0
3. Penn State 9-0
4. Texas 8-1
5. Florida 7-1
6. Oklahoma 8-1
7. USC 7-1
8. Utah 9-0
9. Oklahoma State 8-1
10. Boise State 8-0

Here is Kirk Herbsteit's breakdown:
