Just to reinforce yesterday's post about Kobe's epic failure to ever be considered an heir to Air Jordan, here's MJ's classic "rock the cradle" jam against the Knicks. Poetry in motion.
He's a failure at becoming "the next Jordan" or Jordan's equal or whatever you want to call it. And since that's long been a stated goal of his, it's fair game to say he's failed at doing it.
And the three-ring argument is ridiculous. Kobe won three rings playing next to one of the 15 greatest players in league history. If you had to choose a player to roll with, would you take Shaq or Scottie Pippen?
He's got no Finals MVPs, and he's about to lose a Finals. Mike's got six, and never lost on the game's biggest stage.
And he damn sure NEVER choked away a 24-point lead at home.
Let me tell you something-NO ONE is ever going to win 6 rings like Jordan. Kobe says he wants to be "the greatest player of all time." Isn't he supposed to say that?? That's what's wrong with most of the guys in the league-nobody wants to be "great"-most guys just want the paycheck. Kobe is the best player in the league, the best defensive guard in the league, and the most lethal player at the end of games. Bro, if falling short of Jordan is a failure, that's not too bad of a thing. And the whole "those are Shaq's rings" argument is so bogus. Shaq needed Kobe just as much as Kobe needed Shaq. People seem to forget that Kobe took control of a lot of those games when he needed too (Ex. Game 4 of the Pacers series when Shaq foulded out-he dominated that game at the end). I agree Kobe has to win at least one as the leader of the team before he is truly solidified as one of the 5-10 greatest players of all time, but a "failure" is a not a fair assessment of Kobe Bryant.
I think I was quite clear that this is not a "fair" assessment. LOL I hate that sonofabitch. And I hate him even more when people even bring up the Kobe vs. Mike debate. There's no debate, as you said. But people with short memories or blind devotion continue to throw it out there, and it disgusts me.
Me and you need to get a drink sometime and talk about something we can agree on, like making fun of Kev.
I agree with you-the comparison makes no sense. Jordan is the greatest, and it's not even close. They'll be calling OJ Mayo or Beasley the next Jordan after a solid rookie season-it's all media hype. I feel you not liking Kobe, but the guy is unbelievable on the court. It hurt to watch the game last night, but the better team won.

How is Kobe a failure?? He has 3 rings. Just because he's not Jordan doesn't make him a failure. There will never be another Jordan.
