Monday Kickstart: Seeing's Believing

From Pepsi Max UK's YouTube page:
Pepsi Max surprise commuters with an 'unbelievable' augmented reality experience at a bus shelter on New Oxford Street in London.

Watch their reactions as unbelievable scenarios unfold before their very eyes; from a giant robot crashing through the street to a passer by being abducted by flying saucers.

I'm not really sure what Pepsi is selling here, other than the fact that CGI-heavy action flicks are cool, Pepsi sponsors all of the CGI-heavy action flicks, and we all wanna be CGI-heavy action flick heroes, and CGI-heavy action flick heroes drink PEPSI SO LET'S ALL GO BUY PEPSI RIGHT NOW...

...wha, where... I-I just blacked out for a second there. What's going on? ...Anyone else thirsty for Pepsi?

Onto more blatant advertisements; I give you Playboy's new girl on the block, Miss March 2014, Britt Linn:

Nope, no bias here, folks. Nothing to see here. ...Let's go.

Throwback Thursday: "Live from New York" -- Raekwon

Most people focus on the fact that Rae never matched the level of his first solo album (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...)...which is true. But then again, how could anyone be expected to follow up one of the top rap albums of all time with another one that's equally as great?

Immobilarity, his second release, was still pretty good, just not great. "Live from New York" was definitely the highlight of that cd, and to this day the video makes me want to do a bar night in Manhattan.

Have a Seat

If you want proof that there's karma in this world, then watch this video. Somewhere in Montreal is a woman who'll think twice about banging on the glass at a hockey game.

Monday Kickstart: Face Facts

As you read this, I'm hungover in North Carolina after a weekend of NCAA basketball and coeds. Or I'm dead. Really a 50/50 guess. But through the magic of the internets, you're still getting your fix, in the form of the Broad City ladies (Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer) taking it to the next level.

And this week's inspiration might be my new everything. Meet Ms. Klaudia Badura:

Pretty sure, wherever I am right now, I'm staring at that picture in hopes of remembering that life's worth living. Let's go.

Grandfather Knows Best

These might just be the two coolest grandparents ever.

Throwback Thursday: "Raise Up" -- Petey Pablo

Tomorrow morning I'm on the road to Raleigh, NC for NCAA tourney games and craziness with my boys. And since I'm going to North Carolina...

Let me walk you back to 2001, when this track would come on in the club, and my homie BBB and I would rip off our shirts and spin them over our heads...and then get politely asked by the bouncers to put our shirts back on.

Spankin' It

This prank would get me so caught up, because I guarantee I'd be thinking about smacking her ass just as the other guy runs up and does it.

I've got mad love for the guys standing off to the side who run up and try to help the accused men. They're the true heroes, out to stop injustice.

Tuesday Kickstart: Saints & Sinners

I did my St. Patty's celebrating on Saturday, so this video is more about my Sunday morning. But for all of you who are feeling it today...

And no sense in delaying this week's motivation, since we're already a day behind. Allow me to introduce Ms. Beckiie D:

...not sure why the two i's. Guessing it's a UK thing. And if you think I'm going to argue with her over it, you're insane.

*changes name to "D.E.F.I.I."*

Let's go.

Throwback Thursday: "Playa Hata" -- Luniz

Luniz never really got the cred they deserve. At least not here in the East. I have to believe they got shown a lot more love in the West. But around here, they really were only ever known for "I Got 5 on It," and that was really just kind of seen as a novelty, one-off track. But when you stop to break it down, that track is full of lyricism and impressive flow. As is this, the only other track of theirs that got national play. Damn shame.

Dumpster Fail

I cannot even begin to explain why this is hilarious to me. One of life's mysteries I guess.

POTUS Between Two Ferns

Barry killin' it. The Hangover 3 line is brutal.

(And get yourselves covered if you aren't already. America's been complaining for years that we're the only major country without government run healthcare, and now that a Black man's given it to y'all, y'all wanna sit on your hands like some jackasses, I swear to god if I read one more...)

Monday Kickstart: Charge It to the Game

It's good to see LeBron is having a positive influence on today's youth. (My boy Pro with the assist.)

This week's inspiration comes from Danielle Lo:

I'd follow her anywhere. Let's go.

Being a comedian can be tough. Sometimes you get carried away...literally. Hannibal Buress explains.

Trailer: Transformers: Age of Extinction

This is the second trailer to be released after the Super Bowl spot that aired last month. I'm a fanboy, so you know I'm pumped. I can't wait to watch Optimus & his crew blow some shit up. And Dinobots are in the mix as well? Finally! #geekin

You Have the Right to Remain Funky

...Okay, some cops are cool.

From Daily Picks and Flicks:
New Orleans police officers were filmed dancing to ‘Wobble Baby‘ by V.I.C. during Sunday’s Mardi Gras parade through Mid-City. The elderly officer with awesome dance moves is Winston Harbin Jr.

My girl FGT with the assist.

Tuesday Kickstart: A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

If I had one wish, it'd be to be 18 and starting college again. My fallback wish? Going to Epps College.

Why are we starting on Tuesday this week? Well, because TJ gave me a tour of his hometown (Chicago) this past weekend, and Monday morning I couldn't move—aside from using my thumb to type an email to my manager, to tell her I wasn't coming in. There's more to this tale, of course, and some day On the Rocks will be blessed with it. But for now I'll just say that one weekend ain't enough. I need a Chitown redo. Maybe sometime when the temperature is in the double digits.

For now, I'm holding onto all of the warm thoughts I can muster. And few can inspire more warm thoughts than Georgia Salpa:

Let's go.

Balls Deep in Some Waves

"Day One on the dick: The thing fucking goes bananas!"

*sigh* Fucking Australian people.

Speed Skating, Mariostyle

Yes, you've probably seen this a thousand times in the last couple of weeks. But I'm late in seeing it myself, so...#fightme.
