DMX fighting in MMA

Yea, let's hope he doesn't get killed. What do I know? With the amount of time he's spent in jail and prison, X might be ready for this.

Video: The Roots "How I Got Over"

In my opinion, along with OutKast The Roots are top two greatest hip hop groups of all time. Sorry EPMD, sorry Wu Tang, sorry Fugees and anyone else. But The Roots don't stop.

New Show Alert: Community

To be honest, the below clip that ran during the credits of "Community" had nothing to do with the actual show, but the clip is funny nonetheless and the show is looking to be great based on the first show(s?).. Thurs nights on NBC.

College Grads to see lower wages

Yeah I know, you're thinking "No shit Sherlock Holmes," but I came across this article in the Wall Street Journal (thanks Scourge) about college grads and the uphill battle that they're facing regarding employment. Also the numbers in this article as far as what college grads can expect to make are quite shocking. I know y'all are lazy but I want you to read the article to find the numbers (or just check the graphs).

Shit sucks these days, even in the card room.
The bad news for this spring's college graduates is that they're entering the toughest labor market in at least 25 years.

The worse news: Even those who land jobs will likely suffer lower wages for a decade or more compared to those lucky enough to graduate in better times, studies show.

Gimme That (Empty Doritos Bag Remix)

Chris Brown has started his community service, and it looks like this punishment has really humbled him.

The 20-year-old began serving out the community labor portion of his assault sentence in Virginia today, picking up trash and otherwise cleaning the grounds of an apparently paparazzi-infested police horse stable.

Not that they had to scrounge around for a tip-off on his whereabouts: "on my way to community service..." he helpfully tweeted this morning.

Guess unlike the Richmond Police Department, Brown, who donned the traditional reflective orange vest and a red cap for the first of his 180-day sentence, isn't overly concerned with his privacy.

"CHECK OUT MY OUTFIT," Brown wrote later in the afternoon, also posting a picture of himself in his fluorescent duds.

Ahh, the American justice system. Courtesy of E! Online (click here for the full story).

Props to Iso for the find.

This will haunt Kanye forever

When Kanye first started producing for Roc-a-Fella, I was in love with his beats. I was hesitant to buy into his image as a rapper but I soon wisened up and fell in love with his first album and enjoyed his second as well. Not to mention a load of mixtape songs that he killed with the likes of Mos Def, Twista, Jay and others. But that was the end of that. Since then, it appears that Kanye either can't handle his fame or his ego just grew too big for even his own big ass head. That being said, I'm sure we have all now seen or heard about his outburst at the MTV VMA's during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.

Here is Taylor Swift on "The View" talking about what she was thinking during Kanye's interruption:

And here are some fun photos of Kanye and his interruptions...

U-S-C #1 in early mock BCS standings

BCS GURU has released the mock BCS standings and the Men of Troy are sitting atop the list, which is what I love to hear. Hopefully if we win out we'll be at the Rose Bowl whooping some Gator or Longhorn ass for the 'ship. That's assuming that we don't drop a game to some shitty Pac-10 opponent in the next few months.

Here's the top ten:
1. USC
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. Florida
5. LSU
6. California
7. Boise State
8. Penn State
9. BYU
10. Mississippi

One of my favorite artist's of all time that I've somehow forgotten about, Havoc, addressing a video to his boo (just kidding), his partner in rhyme Prodigy, who is (was?) locked up. Mobb Deep.

Nike Snowboarding

This shit's official. Maybe they need to get the snowboarding guys in the basketball department. All this stuff is coming out this month in time for the winter season.

It's Football Season

Football season has kicked off and I feel very blessed to say that Drew Brees is the starting quarterback for my fantasy team. If you don't have him or Peyton, you might be in a bit of trouble this season although we haven't seen if Mr. Brady is back to his old self yet.

I guess if you have A.P. you're in good shape too. Anyways have fun watching your favorite team, my squad (Seattle) had a stunning victory yesterday but I think it's just providing a lot of false hope for all the Seahawks fans of the world like usual.

I'm going to go ahead and predict a Superbowl match up of Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Daily Dunk: Guy Dupuy

I know I'm not normally one of the guys to post a "Daily Dunk", but I think that TJ and Kev will agree with me on this choice. After all, how often do you see someone combine three classic dunks into one?

(from Ball Don't Lie)

As sick as that was, it somehow looks even better from the reverse angle.

Ass Makes You Stupid

I'm paraphrasing here. But while this sentiment seems to be rather common knowledge, it has been proven scientifically for the first time by researchers in The Netherlands.

The research shows men who spend even a few minutes in the company of an attractive woman perform less well in tests designed to measure brain function than those who chat to someone they do not find attractive.

Researchers who carried out the study, published in the Journal of Experimental and Social Psychology, think the reason may be that men use up so much of their brain function or 'cognitive resources' trying to impress beautiful women, they have little left for other tasks.

I was recently talking with a friend, and we both wondered why so many guys with a lot of money—who most of the time are also extremely smart—get caught up with golddigging girls who everyone else spots from miles away. Now I'm beginning to understand it a little better.

Luda Pulls an Oprah

(Which is ironic, given how she dissed him in the past...)

Ludacris brightened the lives of 20 people in the Atlanta area this weekend, giving each of them a car through his foundation.
Ludacris said he was taken aback after reading thousands of essays by people struggling or unable to buy cars needed to get to and from work or find jobs. The 31-year-old rapper felt he could step in and move them ahead, partnering with a suburban Atlanta dealership for Sunday's giveaway.

"People are getting laid off, and now are looking for jobs," Ludacris said. "To be efficient, you need some transportation of your own to get there. That's why I wanted to give back to those who need it."

Luda's definitely one of the good ones, and I'm glad to see him making the most of his opportunity to give back to the community. The full news article can be found here.

Hoe Bopped

From Seattle Times:
Mountlake Terrace police are on the lookout for a trio of escorts who are alleged to have stolen about $440 from four customers who had invited them over for a weekend party. The cops have their work cut out for them since they're relying on four victims who were "incredibly" intoxicated and provided only the barest of descriptions.

According to police, the four victims decided, after a night of drinking at a Mountlake Terrace home, to pool their money and hire an escort from Craigslist early Saturday morning. "They found a woman whose picture they found appealing and called," said Det. Sgt. Doug Hansen.

But when the woman and two female friends arrived, the men later told police, they found that none of them looked like the woman in the ad. The women were described vaguely to police as being "larger and thicker" than the female pictured in the Craigslist ad.

"The men said they were not as advertised," said Hansen.
