Daily Dunk: Avery Bradley

It's always nice to see a high school kid rise up and boom on some unsuspecting foreign player, in this case Avery Bradley over Serbia's Uros Lukovic. Bradley is out of my home state Washington so I had to show him some love.

"Million Dollar Cash Game" announced

Full Tilt Poker has announced it's lineup for this year's "Million Dollar Cash Game," which will take place on September 17 and 18 in London.

The lineup will consist of Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Mike Matusow, Erick Lindgren, Andy Bloch, Allen Cunningham, Eli Elezra, Tom Dwan, and Tony G.

Obviously some of these players are getting staked by someone. Each player has to buy in for approximately $180 grand.

Super Head Retires

Quite honestly this chick makes me sick and has made me sick ever since she hit the scene. However, I have at least one homeboy who thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread. The (grown) man went to her f-ing book signing. I can't explain it.

So here's footage of her 30th bday party (thanks bc), which she states is actually her retirement party. What is she retiring from? I have no clue. Giving head? I highly doubt that. So what exactly IS she retiring from? That's the mystery. Obviously this lame excuse for a woman has a huge ego that was built on sperm shakes and dome shots.

Daily Dunk: Some Cheerleader

Following on the heels of our anonymous dunker from yesterday is another anonymous dunker. Granted, she doesn't have his ups, but he also doesn't have her body.

Suge confirms he's crazy

Looks like our former favorite hip hop mogul is at it again. As if setting up murders and hanging white rappers off of sky scraper balconies wasn't bad enough, now Suge Knight is beating down women.

Police said the founder of bankrupt Death Row Records was arrested about 6:40 a.m. after officers arrived at the scene of a minor traffic accident and found Knight hitting a woman in a parking lot off a busy thoroughfare.“A citizen sees the beating in a parking lot, police get there fast, they see him beating her. It’s a good solid case,” said Las Vegas police Lt. Chris Carroll.

Police did not release the woman’s name or age, but said she identified herself as Knight’s girlfriend of three years.

“This is a very large man,” Carroll said, estimating his weight at more than twice the woman’s. “He was on top of her, actually in the act of violently beating her when the officers arrived, with the knife in his hand….

Olympians Gone Wild: Angel Matos

This is the first time I've seen this and it took a hell of a google search to find some video, thanks to NBC's outstanding attorney team, but here's footage of Cuban uh....martial arts fighter, Angel Matos, being disqualified from the Bronze metal match and then kicking the Olympic referee in the head. Matos is now facing a lifetime ban from the games. The real comedy is watching his victorious (who was losing at the point of DQ) opponent celebrate triumphantly in the background after Matos kicks the ref.

Kimbo Slice x Ladanian Tomlinson = Backyard Workout

This is quite the clip. Allegedly a Nike commercial, but who knows? Seems to get cut off towards the end, right before LT is about to run through a gauntlet of baseball bats and 4x4's for his running back training. Obviously he's not on the same workout plan as Shawn Merriman...

Daily Dunk: Some Guy

I generally despise streetball because half the plays that are dope are completely illegal - it'd be like watching someone hit home runs off a tee and jocking them - like this one, but goddamn ... this is just tight.

Another hip hop heist

Add "Yung Berg" to the list of (wack) rappers who have gotten their chain snatched. Once again, the thief has proudly posted an image (youtube video bragging about it sure to come soon) of himself with the stolen chain on the internet. If you have no idea who Yung Berg is, don't worry, you are not alone. There's got to be some kind of black market for stolen rapper jewelry.

RIP Kevin Duckworth

Two-time All-Star Kevin Duckworth died Monday night. It sounds like a heart attack or something similar.

I was saddened when I heard the news this morning. I've never met the man, nor have I ever been a Portland Trailblazers fan, but Kevin was from my alma mater, Eastern Illinois University. It's not a school renowned for its athletic tradition, and prior to Tony Romo's emergence, Duckworth was its most successful pro athlete alum.

I realize that's not saying much about the school, but it says a lot about Duckworth. He wasn't much of a prospect coming out of college, but fashioned a solid career out of hard work and teamwork. He averaged 11.8 points and 5.8 rebounds over 11 seasons in the League, and got to the Finals twice. He was the league's most improved player in 1987-88. Not bad for a second-round pick who was traded after 14 games his rookie year.

But not only do I have love for Duck because of the college ties, but because he was from where I'm from. He was born in Harvey, a decimated south suburb of Chicago. My sister was born there, I joined the Marines there ... I even got my ass whipped by police there. He went to Thornridge High, which also graduated basketball lifer Quinn Buckner, NBA journeyman Sam Mack and movie critic Richard Roeper.

He was a South Side success story, and one of the most beloved players in Trailblazer history, which is saying something, given how passionate fans are about that team. In fact, he was on a goodwill tour for the team when he died. People from Harvey to Charleston, Ill., to Portland will testify to his generous nature and kindness to everyone he met. He was beloved at Eastern not just for his athletic success, but his classy representation of our tiny school.

So here's to the "gentle giant" with the giant heart. If there's a heaven, Duck, you've surely been welcomed there with open arms.

Daily Dunk: Derrick Coleman

Yes, D.C. was a colossal waste of talent. Yes, if he had any drive at all he'd be polishing up his Hall of Fame speech right now and not appearing on "Pros Vs. Joes." Yes, he's a poster child for that overused phrase "wasted potential."

However, he was still a good player in his time, and he welcomed some rookie named Shaquille O' Neal to the league with this posterization.

Phil Ivey gets his 2-3 offsuit cracked by Kings in second hand of Legends of Poker

I'm very puzzled by this one...

From cardplayer.com:

"Phil Ivey has already busted out of the tournament. He open shoved blind with 4-3 and then 3-2 in attempts to double up for the day because he had somewhere he had to be for a few hours. The open shove with 3-2 did not go so well for Ivey, as he ran into pocket kings. This is the first major poker tournament in Southern California for Ivey since the L.A. Poker Classic in February. His result in that tournament was decidedly different, he won $1,596,100 and his first WPT title."
